چکیده
The objective of this work is to obtain a multifunctional ceramic composite material at low cost with improved properties and that can be used in many structural applications like: electrical, refractory support tribological elements. A mullite-alumina were prepared by using Algerian kaolin amorphous aluminum hydroxide as starting materials. Two mixtures varying the content 61.5% 50 wt %. an abundant has been chosen high alumina trihydrate lower temperature reaction excess silica kaolin. advantage adding amount it reacts phase issue from increase mullite formed. When added excess, part will dispersed matrix form composite. results revealed major minor samples sintered 1600 °C. At firing temperature, no phases (SiO2) are detected. microstructure shows higher aspect ratio crystals. addition reduces size grains their ratio. density hardness resulting composites sintering content.

متن کاملMicrostructural evolution of mullite during the sintering of kaolin powder compacts
Kaolin particles are usually ̄aky in shape. In the present study, kaolin powder compacts were prepared by applying the diepressing technique. The kaolin ̄akes tend to lie down on the plane which is perpendicular to the die-pressing direction. The powder compact thus shows anisotropic shrinkage after ®ring. A series of phase transformations take place as the kaolin is ®red at elevated temperatur...

Abstract: materials can be fabricated by sintering of W-Cu composite powders. In this research W-20%wt Cu composite powderswas synthesized via a co-precipitation method. Precipitate obtained from a mixture of copper nitrate and ammoniumparatungstate (APT) in distilled water contained W-Cu compounds. This precipitate was washed, dried and calcinedat 550 of dried precipitate powder was determined...
